The club made their first official comment on the news that they were overlooked for major funding to build their proposed new stadium at the FAI Cup Final media day on Tuesday.

Drogheda United’s United Park, located on the Windmill Road in the town, was first opened in 1979 and is not fit for purpose 45 years on.

Drogheda United have been told their application for the Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund is “fundable" and “valid” by the Minister for Sport Thomas Byrne TD - and say they will continue to work on short term goals as the wait for major funding for their new stadium goes on.
