Thursday evening’s game at the RSC in Waterford is a landmark occasion, whatever the outcome. It is certainly an experimental one as the Virgin Media television cameras come to town for the first Thursday night broadcast as new waters are tested as mainstream coverage of the League of Ireland continues to grow. Whether or not it becomes a regular thing, only time will tell. Friday nights will remain the norm for Drogheda United and their rivals, but no one will turn their nose up at national television exposure.
