Drogheda were Shamrock Rovers bogey team - so what happened?

United enjoyed a run of six league games unbeaten against the dominant team of the decade so far but in recent games, Rovers have easily accounted for Kevin Doherty's side. What exactly has changed?

It started in May 2022 when Ryan Brennan headed in Dayle Rooney’s cross to hand Drogheda United a lead, and ultimately a victory, over champions Shamrock Rovers at United Park. Danny Mandroiu’s late sending off - and some last ditch defending too - helped see United through a match that totalled over 100 minutes.
