'Excited' Barr charting a course for success with Drogs and South Africa
Barry visited Portadown to chat to Drogheda United's new South African international goalkeeper about his League of Ireland options, future aspirations, faith, Paul Doolin and more.

The first time I caught a glimpse of Drogheda United’s new goalkeeper, he didn’t immediately strike you as particularly imposing. Stationed on the sideline during the club’s pre-season friendly against Longford Town, he was stood next to all 6ft 4” of Lincoln City loanee Oisin Gallagher so it was perhaps understandable.
Sitting upstairs in a Portadown coffee shop, overlooking the High Street, the six-foot tall, broad-shouldered Jethren Barr is engaging and expansive company. He speaks candidly, which is appreciated.
