On International Women's Day, the ladies who keep the Drogheda United show on the road take centre stage

In their own words, three Drogheda United volunteers tell Love Is The Drog all about what they do, why they do it and why it matters to them.

The Twelfth Man Bar - Drogheda United’s brand new clubhouse hospitality offering - was a hive activity on Thursday evening last, a little less than 24 hours before Drogheda United took to the field against Shelbourne at Tolka Park in a clash that pitted last season’s league champions against the cup winners. Spoiler alert: Drogheda United won the match and for the first time in 11 seasons, top the League of Ireland Premier Division table.

The Twelfth Men certainly played their part in Drumcondra on Friday night, roaring their team onto a victory few gave them a chance of securing. They have certainly raised the bar in the early weeks of the campaign. On Thursday, the bar back home could have been renamed The Twelfth Woman for it was filled with all of Drogheda United’s very best and brightest female volunteers who had gathered for an International Women’s Day video shoot.
