One of Drogheda's rare European veterans, Stephen Bradley knows how scarce these opportunities can be for United's players
The Shamrock Rovers boss' recent feud with Damien Duff has made headlines but he had nothing but sympathy for his Drogheda United counterpart on Monday night.
Stephen Bradley is one of a relatively select number of players to have represented Drogheda United in European competition. Only 59 players in the club’s history have had the honour of lining out in a UEFA match across eight different ties in five seasons spanning four decades.
To put that into context, Kevin Doherty has used 71 players in the League of Ireland Premier Division in the last four-and-a-half seasons. The opportunity, quite simply, does not come around all that often.
