The state of play at Drogheda United is invariably a state of flux. Players come and players go at a pace that rarely slows. Few clubs have been so affected by turnover in the make up of their squad in recent seasons than Drogheda. They’ve been punching above their weight now for three full seasons since their return to Premier Division football for the 2021 season.

Squad re-shaping can occur for several reasons - a changing of the guard, the need to inject freshness into an environment that may have gone stale or simply the desire to constantly evolve, to improve. It might be all three.
