As Darragh Markey gets set to make his 100th league appearance for Drogheda United, we spoke to those who have coached and played alongside him to get a sense of the man who makes the Drogs tick.
Darragh Markey only has one career goal against Drogheda United and it came in February 2020, just weeks before the world changed. Unlike the pandemic, his goal didn’t have any earth shattering ramifications. Afterall, it was in a pre-season friendly at Richmond Park. However, it likely had Kevin Doherty, then the United assistant manager watching on from the away dugout, dreaming of having a player like that in his own ranks.
